Good Afternoon Class 1,
The children have had another really busy week this week and they have all been superstars! In Science the children have taken leaf and bark rubbings whilst making observations about the changes that have happened this week as a result of us being in Autumn. In History the children have worked togethers to create a fact file on Amy Johnson whilst learning the difference between a source and sauce. In PE the children have taken part in Hockey and their first Rugby lesson (which they now all love!)
The children really enjoyed their Jigsaw lesson with Mrs. Atkinson and sang their hearts out in Music. We didn’t manage to get over to the church last Tuesday but we will be going next Tuesday afternoon as part of our RW lessons.
Maths
In maths the children have continued their unit on place value. We have explored numbers as words, counting on from a given number, 1 more and counting backwards from 10.
English
In English the children have continued with their learning linked to character descriptions. We spent time creating a bank of nouns, verbs and adjectives to describe Cyril and Bruce. Additionally, we have written sentences about the squabbling duo.
In your child’s book bag I have popped in a copy of this week’s spelling list. Additionally, I have assigned a game on the PurpleMash platform (login details can be found in your child’s reading log).
Reading
