Good Afternoon!
What an amazing week we have had in class 1! The children have been so enthusiastic in all of their lessons, they have particularly enjoyed their English lessons this week as well as practicing for the Christmas play.
Jam Sandwiches: On Tuesday we will be making Jam Sandwiches in our English lesson (instruction writing), if your child has any allergens could you please let me know.
Maths
In maths this week the children have spent time developing their addition and subtraction skills. They have investigated addition problems, finding a part and subtraction within ten using part-whole models.
English
In English this week the children have started a new unit; Simple Instruction Writing. We have used the book Beegu to guide our learning, where our lead character Beegu finds herself a little bit confused due to not understanding the world around her.
In your child’s book bag I have popped in a copy of this week’s spelling list. Additionally, I have assigned a game on the PurpleMash platform (login details can be found in your child’s reading log). You can also see a copy of this week’s spellings below:

Maths
In maths the children have been working really hard on their addition within 10 and as we near the end of our addition within 10 unit, I think it would be really beneficial to revise our addition skills. Therefore, I have found this fun game that the children can play:
