Good Afternoon!

Come Monday we will only have two weeks left until we finish for the Christmas holidays. The next couple of weeks are a busy yet very exciting time in school with many additional events taking place. Next week, will see both the performances and the start of DT week (spread over the last two weeks). The final week will see us having the Christmas Fair, PTFA disco and the special certificate assembly along with many other special surprise treats.

As a reminder for DT week please ensure that you send your child to school with:

2L fizzy drinks bottle

Toothpaste cardboard box

Cereal box.

In English the children have continued with their setting description unit. We have focused on verbs in our descriptive writing, the children have used verbs to describe the movements made by rivers and waterfalls. Next week, we are going to be describing trees and further elements of the forest.

In maths we have continued with our shape unit, we have spent time learning the names of 3D shapes as well as sorting them based upon their properties. We have also revisited 2D shapes and sorted them. Next week, we will explore patterns in shapes as well as making patterns using shapes.

In your child’s book bag I have popped in a copy of this week’s spelling list. Additionally, I have assigned a game on the PurpleMash platform (login details can be found in your child’s reading log). You can also see a copy of this week’s spellings below:
