Good Afternoon!

I hope I find you all well!

Despite the rubbish weather last weekend, we finally seem to be witnessing some spring sunshine. I love this time of year, it allows us to get outside much more often, the kids are still talking about our leaf hunt from last week and they are certainly enjoying PE out on the field.

This week in maths the children completed their multiplication and division unit and have commenced their Fractions unit. We completed the following Whiterose small steps: Recognise a half of an object or a shape, Find a half of an object or a shape and Recognise a half of a quantity. The children really enjoyed getting stuck in with fractions, particularly using concrete objects to support our learning.

In English we have continued with our Sleeping Beauty unit, writing a 5-part story. The children have written setting descriptions, character descriptions and explored feelings. Next week, we will plan and write our stories.

RWI Home learning:

Practice your  story green words and red words from your home reading book on a piece of paper at home. These can be found on the How to help your child read this book page.

Challenge: Can you use the words in sentences?

Maths

To continue the great work that the children have completed this week, I have found a great little game that the children can use to consolidate their understanding of fractions.
