Welcome back! I hope that you all have had a lovely Christmas break and I would like to wish you all a happy new year.

We have an exciting term ahead with our theme, ‘Best of British’

So far this week the children have shown great interest and have many questions that they would like to find out the answer to. As set out in the newsletter, we will explore Everyday materials in Science as well as child-led discovery of Britain in the last 50 years (homes and toys). Our Art work will be influenced by Hepworth and Moore and the children will be sculpting.

Homework

Homework will officially start next week, however I have a mini-challenge for the children to complete. I would like the children to bring in any photographs, leaflets, postcards etc that are linked to any of the nations of the UK. For example if you have visited Wales and have any photos that we could put on display that would be fantastic.

Additionally, if you have any old toys (both the children, adults and grandparents) that you are able to loan to us, it would really help with the children’s research into toys from the past.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Mr Mallison

Happy New Year
