Friday 22nd May
You still managed to lots of great work in the sunshine yesterday!
Friday!!
Can’t quite believe it is Friday again!
In the story The Teeny Weeny Tadpole, all the tadpole wanted to do was jump and leap like his Mum, the lamb, the rabbit and the grasshopper.
Have a think about what it is that you want to be able to do or get better at when you get older. Don’t forget to tell me why you want to be able to do it too!
I wish I could……
I would love to be able to…..
I am going try hard to ………
You can present this in whatever way you like, write about it and draw a picture, video yourself telling me, make a model, anything you like!
Frog game
This game is a bit of a family tradition for me. You need to make 2 cardboard frogs like this ( fairly stiff card!) Put a hole in the middle and thread some string through. Tie one end to a chair or table leg and hole the other end of the string. Your frog needs to be ‘standing up’ on it’s back legs.
My mum sent me these measurements as a guide!
32cm x 21cm
Body is 15 cm wide.
Head to tail 22.5 Cm.
Hole is 9 Cm from top of head and 6.5 Cm in from armpit!
The aim of the game is to pull and move the string to be the first one to get their frog to the other end (to the chair or table leg!)
Have fun and send me some pictures!

Hope you had lots of fun in the sun yesterday! ☀️
Frogs!
Today I want you to create the life cycle of a frog.
Watch the video so you can see real life tadpoles turn into frogs and then have a go at creating your own life cycle!
Try and think of a fun way you could create your life cycle.
You could use play dough, food, junk modelling, drawing pictures, anything you ca think of!
Here are some ideas that might help you!
Can you do some writing to go with your model or picture explaining each stage.?
Extra Challenge
Can you complete the sentences and put them in the correct order!
If you can’t print then just write them out from this picture with the missing words and you could draw pictures to go with them!
Music
Here are some fun songs about a frog’s life cycle that you could sing along too!

Great Science Share
The Great Science Share project is asking as many children and families as possible to take part in the Groove-along. You need to watch the video which takes you through the simple dance steps needed to perform and how to film it. You can find out more about it on the main National Share website here: https://www.greatscienceshare.org/great-science-groove
This weeks’ Scienceshare theme is Scavenger Hunt. This fits nicely alongside the activities you have been doing for your science theme work. https://www.greatscienceshare.org/getinvolved2020#weekly-themes-2020-wk3
You could Go on a Wildflower Foray and explore the variety of flowers growing around you.
Or you could go on a SPIDER SAFARI!

Wednesday 20th May
Great reading Class 1, you have achieved another badge!
You have had another very busy day, you never fail to amaze me with your hard work! ?
Keep scrolling down to find today’s tasks!
The Teeny Weeny Tadpole
In the story there are lots of words to describe the movement of different animals.
These words sound like the sound of the action. This is called Onomatopoeia.
Can you write all the words like this that you can hear in the story?
I will start you off with the first one…. BOING!
Once you have found all the words in the story you have a choice of 2 activities.
- Write the words in a fun way, you could hand write them in bubble writing with pictures or have a go on the computer or tablet using a word art program.
- Take a photo or video of you moving in the way the words describe or of you making the sound. (The video at the bottom might give you some good ideas!)
Can you add any new onomatopoeia words too?
Alfie helped me do some yesterday!
Here are some ideas if you get stuck….
I thought you might enjoy another story about a frog!!
The big wide mouthed frog!
Great Work!
You continue to be so busy Class 1 doing fantastic work. Well done!

What a busy day you had yesterday Class 1! ???
The Teeny Weeny Tadpole
You have a choice of activities today about the story. You choose what you want to do!
- Create a story map for the story by drawing pictures in the order the events happened. I have done one using pictures on the computer. You could do one on the computer or on purple mash using Create a Story or Story board 2do’s.
2. Use my story map to retell the story. Have a go at writing it out or writing key words underneath the pictures.
3. Retell the story by acting it out or using toys / making the animals to show each part of the story and take a photograph of each one.
You choose however you want to retell the story of the Teeny Weeny tadpole!
DT
Have a go at making a jumping fog! You could make more than one and have a jumping race!
